Step-by-step explanation
Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights.

One of the principles under this declaration is the principle of human dignity and human rights. It states that human dignity, their rights and basic freedoms are inviolable (2021). It can also be interpreted to mean that the interest of an individual involved in research should supersede those of the field and society (“UNESCO adopts Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights”, 2021). This principle is very important in preventing violation of the dignity of human beings by researchers in order to achieve their end for example what happened during the world war where human beings were used as subjects for tests violating their human rights.

In a research study, this principle needs to be adhered to and a researcher should be able to guarantee this to subjects. One of the ways in which this right is ensured is through obtaining informed consent from the subjects. When the subjects are aware of what is going to be done to them, they can accept or refuse unlike when they are subject ted to research without being informed first hand. The researcher should also be well-versed with the field to ensure that whatever research he or she is undertaking does not impinge on the rights of his/her subjects. The involvement of other bodies that monitor human rights violations in research also helps to ensure that their rights are safeguarded during studies.
